Why your next chapter begins by coming HOME to yourself.
Every September carries a certain feeling.
The holidays are over.
The routines return.
The calendar fills up.
For many people it almost feels more like a new year than January does.
You promise yourself this will be different.
You’ll take better care of yourself.
You’ll finally make that career change.
You’ll exercise more.
Spend more time with your family.
Start that business.
Write that book.
Another fresh start.
But after coaching people for years and living through my own burnout and reinvention, I’ve realised something.
Most people don’t need another fresh start.
They need to stop running away from themselves, because if the person making today’s decisions is still being guided by yesterday’s fears, nothing really changes.
You´ll simply create a new chapter with the same author behind the pen.
The invisible backpack we all carry
Many of us reach midlife carrying stories we never consciously chose, they more likely sneaked up from behind or even from within.
“I’m not experienced enough.”
“I need more qualifications.”
“I´m too old.”
“I have to be strong.”
“I’ll wait until I feel confident.”
For years I believed some version of those stories myself.
Looking back, I realise I often became a shadow of other people.
Not because they asked me to.
But because somewhere inside, I believed they were better than I was.
So I stayed a little quieter.
Waited a little longer.
Doubted myself a little more.
It wasn’t until much later that I realised I wasn’t lacking confidence.
I was living from old programming and believes.
Coming HOME isn’t starting over
That is why I want to clarify that reinventing doesn´t mean changing all of yourself.
It means to start remembering yourself. To reconnect yourself to who you are and want to be.
That’s the heart of my HOME framework.
Not becoming someone else.
Not fixing yourself.
Not chasing another version of success.
But slowly coming back to the person underneath all the expectations, roles and survival strategies.
The version of you that has always been there waiting patiently.
One decision changes everything
Transformation rarely begins with a giant leap.
It usually starts with one honest decision.
To stop pretending everything is fine.
To listen instead of constantly pushing.
To choose yourself without feeling guilty.
To ask for support.
To believe that life can feel lighter than it does today.
One decision.
Then another.
Momentum doesn’t come from huge actions.
It comes from small actions repeated from a different place.
Your next chapter may already be waiting
Perhaps your next chapter isn’t asking you to become someone new.
Perhaps it’s inviting you to come HOME.
To reconnect with your own wisdom.
To trust yourself again.
To make decisions that are aligned with who you are today, not who you needed to be twenty years ago.
Because it is never too late to restart.
Especially when “restarting” really means returning to yourself.
Reflection
Before you make another plan this September, ask yourself one question:
Am I building a new life…living in my old life… or am I finally coming HOME to myself?
That one question might change everything.
If this blog resonated with you, perhaps it’s not because you need another method.
Perhaps it’s because a part of you is ready to come HOME.
I’d love to give you my e-book, “The Hidden Room… The Key Was Never Missing”.
It’s a personal story of burnout, self-discovery and the journey back to myself, but more importantly, it’s an invitation to begin looking within. Through stories, reflections and practical insights, you’ll start to understand why so many of us drift away from ourselves… and how we can gently find our way back.
